Winter is coming! The ice is starting on the lake, and we have had a couple of snowstorms already. I like the way the lake looks when there is water and ice at the same time. It has a different look than the spring time when the ice is breaking up.

While my daughter and I were in Canmore last summer, we climbed the hill behind the hotel to see the hoodoos. There were only a few, but it was well worth the climb. They do look very different from the ones in the Drumheller area. Â Â

I really enjoyed visiting Banff this summer. We were able to go up in the Banff gondola, and the chairlift at Mount Norquay. Each of these places give great opportunities to see the mountains around Banff. I especially enjoyed watching the lighting change on the mountains because of the cloud cover.
